I am about to lose a beloved tortoiseshell-white cat named Molly. She's a beautiful, gentle darling little friend, eleven years almost to the day with us. She and her sister, Charlotte, came to us as very small kittens, orphaned at just a few weeks. When I first saw them, they were curled together in a little ball of colorful fur, sound asleep. We had to take them both, of course, feeding them by tiny bottles until they were big enough to forage for themselves. Molly was a cat with a beautiful spirit, never raising a paw, always rolling over so you could rub her tummy, which she loved. She had a kinky little tail and a face like a pansy, eyes half-closed. Her purr was delicate, her touch always soft, her pleasure in her 'parents' always enjoyed. We had a mutual love affair. Last week she was diagnosed with advanced cancer, and we must face what we must do for her comfort. I'm just here, I guess, because I am so sad to lose her, and feel there are many loving cat 'parents' out there who have probably been through the same thing. Just needing to share.
